Mark Schmidt's debut adapts a true story of heroism in Nazi-occupied Hungary. That’s the case with the exploits of Pinchas Tibor Rosenbaum. Most studios stay away from period dramas because they are difficult and expensive to produce. As a rabbi’s son from a small village called Kisvarda, Pinchas Tibor Rosenbaum fought against great odds in one of Hungary’s most terrifying periods. Supposedly, anyone with a Swiss passport can safely leave Hungary for Switzerland.
